IESNA Baltimore Fellowship

 

Overview:

The goal of this fund is to encourage lighting education and creative thought by financially assisting a new member of our local professional community with five (5) or fewer years of professional experience or a university level (undergraduate or graduate) student residing in Maryland who is committed to studying the field of architectural lighting design. This fellowship will assist the chosen recipient with expenses relating to lighting education and research hat demonstrates a further understanding of lighting related problems and solutions. In addition to an application, applicants shall submit a detailed budget of proposed expenses, a Statement of Purpose with respect to the applicant's lighting education or research, and arrange for at least two letters of recommendation, at least one of which shall be from someone involved with lighting professionally or academically. 

Eligibility:

Full-time or part-time undergraduate or graduate students in an accredited four-year college or university, or a Maryland-based design professional, not affiliated with a manufacturer, with five (5) or fewer years of professional experience. Students must either maintain a primary residence in Maryland or attend a school located in Maryland. Membership in the IES is not a prerequisite.

Fellowship Award: August 1st

 

Award:

Up to $2000 awarded annually. Amount and number of awards varies based on available funds and applications. A one-year membership in the IES is provided.
